Urgent Care for adults
When visiting a HCA Urgent Care Centre, you will first be greeted by a member of our dedicated team who will assess whether you are suitable for urgent care treatment. This is very important when operating a walk-in urgent care service, to ensure that you receive the appropriate care as quickly as possible.
Your treatment will be carried out by our dedicated team of urgent care doctors and nurses, with an initial consultation fee costing £100. Diagnosis items such as blood tests or CT, MRI or Ultrasound scans will incur additional fees on top of your consultation fee. You will be advised of these prices before treatment takes place. A guidance of costs is available here.
If you require further treatment, including further diagnostic tests or admission to hospital, we will refer you on to a consultant doctor. We have a full-time rota of consultants available from many medical specialities, to ensure you can be seen quickly.
If you are referred on to a consultant, you can seek authorisation for cover by your private medical insurer at this stage. If you do not have private medical insurance, the cost of further treatment will be outlined to you to consider treatment on a self-pay basis.
Each HCA Urgent Care Centre is staffed by experienced doctor and nurses trained in urgent care. The Urgent Care service includes a consultant body who advise and help maintain the highest standards of care when it comes to managing centres specialising in walk-in treatment. This body is lead by a Clinical Director for acute medicine, who is highly experienced in the provision of urgent care.
