Robert Fernandes
Clinical Nurse Manager
Born and educated in Jersey, Channel Islands, Robert has been living in London for 12 years and qualified as a nurse in 1999, from Brunel University and has worked in both medical and surgical wards before commencing his career in Accident and Emergency at Charing Cross Hospital. Mr. Fernandez developed into a Senior Charge Nurse and also qualified as an Emergency Nurse Practitioner, which allowed him to treat patients autonomously.
Most recently, Robert spent 2 years travelling around the world. During this time, he worked in Australia, and was able to see how health care systems worked in another country. Robert began working at the Princess Grace Hospital’s Urgent Care Centre in April of 2009. Being a keen sportsman, he has a particular interest in sports related injuries, and will be undertaking an MSc in sports injuries assessment, treatment and rehabilitation.
Robert believes that the Urgent Care Centre can provide quick and expert care. The diagnostic services are second to none, and the hospital has direct access to a plethora of expert consultants, should patients need referral or admission.
It is an exciting time for the UCC, as the service develops. The UCC gives a more personalised care, tailored to each individual, with a focus on patient education.
