Frequently Asked Questions – GP
- How long does a patient have to wait to be seen?
- We aim to see everyone within 15 minutes of arrival at the unit.
- Does the unit see children?
- At present we are unable to treat anyone under the age of 18, but this is an area we are hoping to develop in the near future.
- Do you see patients with mental health problems
- The Urgent Care Centre is not an appropriate environment for treating this type of patient. We advise that patients with mental health problems are seen by their GP, counselor or alternatively that they visit a local NH emergency department.
- What happens if the patient becomes unstable?
- The patient will be submitted to The Princess Grace Hospital or transferred to one of its sister hospitals. If we decide that the patient is critical then we will transfer them immediately to the nearest NHS facility by London Ambulance Service, where the NHS excels. Your patient’s safety is always our top priority.
