• Does the Urgent Care Centre have consultants on site?
• If the Urgent Care Centre doctor thinks you need a further follow up, a specialist will be contacted and can see you either in outpatients or the Urgent Care Centre. We have a comprehensive list of consultant specialists who are available to see patients on an emergency basis.
• Who will see me?
• The Urgent Care Centre is staffed by medical officers and nurses who have significant experience in emergency medicine. If you would prefer to see a nurse, it is possible to arrange this for you.
• What kind of emergencies can you deal with?
• Most medical and surgical emergencies and acute illnesses can be treated in the Urgent Care Centre, however, we cannot see people with complications of pregnancy, acute mental illnesses or anyone under the age of 18.
