Robert Fernandes

Clinical Nurse Manager

Qualifications: RN, BSc (Hons) Critical Care, ENP, MSc (SEM)

Born and educated in Jersey, Channel Islands, Robert has been living in London for 16 years and qualified as a nurse in 1999, from Brunel University and has worked in both medical and surgical wards before commencing his career in Accident and Emergency at Charing Cross Hospital. Mr. Fernandes developed into a Senior Charge Nurse and also qualified as an Emergency Nurse Practitioner, which allowed him to treat patients autonomously. He is also an Advanced Life Support Provider.

Most recently, Robert spent 2 years travelling around the world. During this time, he worked in Australia, and was able to see how health care systems worked in another country. Robert began working at the Princess Grace Hospital’s Urgent Care Centre in April of 2009. Being a keen sportsman, he has a particular interest in sports related injuries, and has completed an MSc in sports injuries assessment, treatment and rehabilitation from University College London.

Robert believes that the ethos of the Urgent Care Centre makes caring for patients the priority. The diagnostic services are second to none, and the hospital has direct access to a plethora of expert consultants, should patients need referral or admission.

“The concept of the Urgent Care gives both patient and staff the ability to access excellence. As staff, we get the chance to spend time with our patients, thereby understanding more about them and their condition, and allowing us to give them the best care we can provide.”
